Your essay must adhere to MLA format
As humans, we learn and grow, sometimes intentionally, such as in a classroom, and sometimes inadvertently as we move through our lives. Tell the story of how you learned one concept, one truth, one skill, or one piece of knowledge that you value.
“That’s not fair!” Each of us has spoken this phrase before. While at times we may simply be angry at a particular situation, other times, we recognize injustices that we witness and experience. Tell the story of an injustice that happened to you or one that you witnessed. What happened? Why was this unfair? This need not necessarily be a major, societal injustice; you may write about any unfair experience.
Ralph Waldo Emerson famously writes “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by statesmen and philosophers and divines.” To become ourselves, he argues, we must embrace changing our minds when evidence and experience lead us to different conclusions and opinions from those we held before. Tell the story of a time when you changed your mind or opinion.
